Textile Care

We believe that it is ok for a garment, textile, or person to need special care. Our pieces are made with your wellbeing, and the wellbeing of the planet in mind. This means we do not treat our textiles with toxic chemicals that would cause harm. Below are the care instructions for your favorite Flower Dye pieces.

With the proper love and care, they will last you a long time.

Naturally Dyed Silk

Silk pillowcases or other naturally dyed silk products can be hand washed or machine washed.

Hand Wash: Wash in tepid water with a tiny amount of natural detergent. Here is a list of detergents that got good ratings on the Environmental Working Group. The detergent that you use matters, for your pieces and for the environment! Do not use fabric softeners. Air Dry.

Machine Wash: In a mesh bag, wash silk pillowcase in cool water on delicate cycle. Purchase our textile care kit here. Never use extreme temperatures like cold or hot on silk. Do not use fabric softeners. Air dry.

We recommend washing your silk pillowcase no more than once a month. Silk, and natural dyes, have natural antimicrobial properties that necessitate less frequent laundering. We also recommend having more than one pillowcase if it is something you use every night. It’s good to give something you use daily, or nightly, a rest.

Keep out of direct sunlight to maintain color vibrancy.
