Anima Mundi Apothecary: Create a Rainbow from Nature

  • Anima Mundi Apothecary (map)

Join Flower Dye founder Susanna Taylor for an evening of learning to create color from nature! In this class you will learn to create vibrant, lasting textile color from flowers, food waste and even medicinal ingredients you would find in a kitchen or at the market. We will provide you with a textile to experiment with, and you can bring your own pre-washed garment from home to dye (must be a natural material like cotton or silk and white, ivory or light colored).

Sign up here!

In this class you will learn the basics of natural dyeing and more:

-which fabrics to use for natural dyeing

-how to prepare fabric for dyeing

-how to make a natural dye bath

-how to create color on fabric with flowers directly

-different tie dye and Shibori techniques to create patterns on your fabric

-how to care for your naturally dyed textiles and clothing

Bring to class:

-you can bring an item of clothing or textile of your own to dye

-a notebook and pen for taking notes

-container to take home any leftover dye bath if you want (water bottle etc)

We look forward to seeing you at Anima Mundi Apothecary for a magical night of color and nature alchemy!
